Heritage Blend: Our Latest Cider

Our new Heritage Blend cider brings the best apples from our cider-variety orchard together with a little pink lady for a cider with real depth of flavour and a great refreshing drink.

With a rich apple harvest in 2021 we were determined to bring the amazing taste of real cider variety apples to as many people as we could.  We took a broad variety of bitter-sweet and bitter-sharp apples from our own orchard: Somerset Redstreaks, Stoke Reds and about half a dozen other varieties, topped them up with more Cimitiere de Blangy and Kingston Blacks from the Rose Farm orchard on the slopes of Mount Canobolas. Finally some Pink Lady apples finished off the blend for a little balance.

The result was even better than we expected:

Striking, rich gold in colour with a subtle bead. Attractive aromas of fresh cut red

apple with complex brioche, forest floor and spice notes. This is a mostly dry, lively, light to medium bodied cider.

The well-balanced flavours combine fresh and cooked apples with subtle spice and savouriness. It has a touch of tartness that adds to the mouthfeel, with a mouth-watering, puckering finish that lingers delightfully. This is a nicely complex cider that makes the perfect aperitif.
