The Australian Cider Awards is Australia's most prestigious cider competition. With about 250 entries this year the resurgence of proper craft cider has been shown again.
We love the awards: it's a chance to get together again with our industry besties, a great opportunity to get feedback from expert judges and now and again we bring a few things home to hang on the bottles.
This year we put in 7 entries.
The result: 7 medals. Woooo hooo.
Gold Medal and Best In the Non Alcoholic Cider Class for the Apple and Cherry Golden Knot!
Here's what the judges said:
Attractive pink/copper colour. Aromas of black cherry and almond. Excellent cherry and apple integration on the palate with good acidity. Balanced sweetness and tartness create a complex finish. Well done.
Pretty amazing haul. We are delighted to see the Golden Knots smashing it and three new vintage releases getting medals after 2 to 3 years each in the works.
